Location: Department of Public Works
Hours: 40 hour work week in conjunction with Department of Public Works
Benefited/Bargaining Unit Position.
Salary: Starting rate: $ 21.71 per hour. * Benefited (medical, dental)/ pension position. Accrued time, sick, vacation, personal. 40 hour work week Nage Union
Duties:
- Operates light duty trucks, mechanical equipment following prescribed standard operation.
- Conducts roadway maintenance tasks, such as patching asphalt, and repairing catch basins and manholes.
- Performs preventive maintenance and service on trucks and equipment such as daily checking of oil, water hydraulic fluid, lights tires.
- Follows prescribed safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment, at all times.
- Performs all other appropriate duties as assigned.
- Will occasionally supervise seasonal help and/or community service personnel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma/or Equivalent.
- Work experience or vocational training in the construction trades.
- Valid CT Class C motor vehicle operator’s license, minimum.
- Clean driving record, clean criminal record.
- Welding cutting, fabricating, brazing.
