Hours40 hour work week in conjunction with Department of Public Works

​Benefited/Bargaining Unit Position.

Salary:  Starting rate: $ 21.71 per hour.  * Benefited (medical, dental)/ pension position.  Accrued time, sick, vacation, personal. 40 hour work week  Nage Union

Duties:

  • Operates light duty trucks, mechanical equipment following prescribed standard operation.
  • Conducts roadway maintenance tasks, such as patching asphalt, and repairing catch basins and manholes.
  • Performs preventive maintenance and service on trucks and equipment such as daily checking of oil, water hydraulic fluid, lights tires.
  • Follows prescribed safety procedures, including the use of required personal protective equipment, at all times.
  • Performs all other appropriate duties as assigned.
  • Will occasionally supervise seasonal help and/or community service personnel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma/or Equivalent.
  • Work experience or vocational training in the construction trades.
  • Valid CT Class C motor vehicle operator’s license, minimum.
  • Clean driving record, clean criminal record.
  • Welding cutting, fabricating, brazing.

Opening for Director of Finance/Deputy Treasurer

Town Hall Business Hours attends evening meetings, Board of Finance, and others as requested.

Salary: 120,000 -140,000 range with experience nonunion benefited position

Education: Bachelor’s Degree, in Business Administration or its equivalent. Experience in the public sector is highly desirable.

Duties: Under direction of First Selectman, oversees Finance Department and will provide information and analysis of annual budgets and projections of expenditures and revenue; to work closely with, prepare reconciliation and supply information to Town’s appointed auditor, financial advisor, bond counsel and bank representatives; Incumbent should understand the different basis of accounting and be able to work with computerized spreadsheets. Maintain financial records and documentation for grants. To provide supervision over employees of the Finance Department rendering Financial Services. Performs all other appropriate assigned duties not limited to contents herein.
