Hours: Meetings are currently held on the second & fourth Tuesday of the Month at 6:30 p.m.
Special Meetings are scheduled on occasion and more frequent during budget season. Location may be at Town Hall or via teleconference / Zoom.

Rate: $416.52 per month no additional pay for special meetings

Recording Secretary Position involves:

Recording and transcribing minutes of regularly scheduled and special meetings in adherence to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements.

Electronic typing, filing, website posting and email distribution of agendas and materials based on previous meeting actions and input provided by staff/Commission Chairman.

Filing agendas and minutes with the Town Clerk in adherence to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements.

Posting agendas, minutes and special notices to the Town of Windsor Locks website.

Candidate must be somewhat flexible on date and time of meetings.

Coordinating, by phone and/or email, a meeting date and time with board members to provide meeting reminders in order to achieve a quorum.

Typing and sending legal notices and results of meetings to local newspapers in adherence to Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requirements and Connecticut General Statutes as may be amended from time to time.

Maintain records of meeting materials.

Regular use of phone, computer, email, copier, digital recording equipment and similar technology.

Responsible for compiling all information for yearly annual report and coordination with Departments and provide to print vendor.

*Director of Finance and Chairmen of BOF may redirect duties depending on need. Above is not all inclusive. Flexibility pertaining to schedule/ duties required.

**Generally from Feb 1st through May (until budget adoption)board is scheduled to meet every Tuesday and Wednesday.

**summer months board meets generally once per month, (subject to change, depending on needs)

The above will be conducted in consultation with the Chairman of the Commission and the delegated Town Hall Staff Member / Department Director.

$38,668.32 without AAT certification or CCMA I

The Town of Windsor Locks seeks qualified applicants for the position of Clerk Assessors Office. This is a Full-time, benefited, Bargaining Unit position that reports to the Assessor or designee.  This position is 35 hours per week.  Hours are in conjunction with Town Hall Business Hours

Duties Include but not limited to:

Directly interfaces with public.

Reviews deeds and other instruments of conveyance to insure conformance to Assessor’s records.

Inputs real estate, personal property, motor vehicle and related property information into an automated assessment record system.

Assist public in filing tax exemptions.

Assist the Assessor in completion of State reports as mandated by the Office of Policy and Management.

Prepares statistical and narrative reports from original data or rough copy.

Provides technical and office administrative and assistance to the Assessor: organizes and performs work related to the collection and processing of information to assist in the establishment of the town Grand List and related taxable property information.

Performs general receptionist duties answering phone, answering emails, customer service for heavy office flow.   Observes strict confidentiality in maintaining files and records.

 

Qualifications:

Knowledge of office procedures, including filing, scheduling, posting and basic bookkeeping.  Ability to follow written and oral instructions.  Ability to operate data and assessment computer programs.  Ability to maintain accurate files and records. Ability to perform accurate mathematical computations.  Ability to deal cooperatively with others.  Experience in working with real estate land records desirable.

 

Minimum education requirement: is a high school diploma or equivalency and four years’ experience in moderately complex office work requiring computer literacy.  CCMA classes IA & IB desirable.  CCMA I preferred.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel.

Day to day operations for WPCA facility
Ensuring facility is safety operated in compliance
coordinates and conducts training
Maintains accuraterecords/required by dept & DEP requirements
Plans work Schedules and personnel
Supervisory responsibilities:
Oversees work performed by and job performance of subordinate workers/seasonal
Preferred Education And/or Experience:
College degree preferred 
valid cdl class b drivers lic, with air brake tanker endorsements
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Extensive knowledge of the method and equipment usual to wastewater collection and the treatment and the practices required to operate a class Ivtreatment facility.

Position Title: Highway Foreman

Rate of pay: $ 33.03 per hour 40 hour work week per union contract

Responsibilities include but not limited too:

Under the General Supervision of the Director of Public Works this is a working foreman position

Essential Duties & Functions:

Schedules and allocate personnel and equipment to perform ​work assignments

Inspects new and existing equipment, roads, facilities for conformance to Town specification and needed maintenance/repairs.

Prepares routine documentation regarding work in progress and upon completion.

Supervisory:

Oversees work performed by and job performance of subordinate workers.

Preferred Education And/or Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. An Associate’s Degree is preferred.

5 Year experience maintaining Facilities, Construction, Maintaining Roadway, infrastructure

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Strong analytical ability, including the ability to make decision in working toward assigned objections, modifying work methods and standards to meet variation in controlling condition.

Ability to supervise and manage people.

Must be resourceful, and self-motivated.
