FY 2025/2026 Budget

A Town's annual budget is a financial plan that outlines how a town will allocate its resources and manage its income and expenditures for the upcoming fiscal year. It's a key document that ensures the town’s financial stability, proper funding of services, and adherence to fiscal policies. The budget is organized into categories that address the town’s needs, with a proposed plan for expenditures and revenues. It covers the Town’s main operating fund, known as the General Fund, and spans from July 1st to June 30th of the following year. Developing the General Fund budget involves multiple stakeholders to ensure a responsible budget that delivers essential services without imposing excessive costs. The budget includes contributions from every department which are evaluated and approved by the Board of Finance.  Additionally, the Water Pollution Control Authority is a separate user-taxing district with budgets and assessments linked here.
