We received notice from our Health Director this morning that the Connecticut Department of Public Health has confirmed an additional positive test results for Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) involving a Windsor Locks resident. The case involves a newborn child. Although, the Department of Public Health will not be releasing any other information regarding this particular case, the Health Director indicates that she will be monitoring this case closely. This additional case brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases involving Windsor Locks residents to eight.
We have entered a period of sustained community transmission of COVID-19. It would be unreasonable to assume that these eight people are the only persons afflicted with COVID-19 in town. With regard to precautions to slow the spread of COVID-19, residents should already be following the guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
